Sweet!

On Monday, August 3rd, Quinn had her first taste of sweet potatoes. As you can see, she couldn't get enough of them. Since then, she has also tried some pears, but the bitterness took her a while to get used to. Grandma H. came to babysit for 3 days, while I was at a training for work. They had lots of fun together and she helped get Quinn on a new food schedule. Quinn also kept her on her toes when she splattered the bowl of sweet potatoes all over the kitchen.

Super Six!

I am 6 months old. My parents can't believe it...a half a year already. I went to the Dr. today and she said I weigh 16lbs 14 oz(75%ile) and I am 26in(50%ile) long. My head circumference is 42 1/2cm(50%ile). I had my shots too and I am a bit fussy. I am excited because my doctor said I can start eating foods, instead of just my cereal. Yeah!

I love to playfully yell and giggle at my mom and dad when they play peek-a-boo or jiggle me on their leg. I am rolling all over the place. Back to belly and then back again. I am sitting up straight, but mom and dad still have to watch me, because I like to tip over. I haven't figured out how to bring myself to the sitting position but I am a little worm pivoting and turning while I am on my belly. I really would like to figure out how to crawl. I am blowing bubbles and spitting all the time. I love to snuggle now and rest my head on mom and dad's shoulders. I am getting very curious about what mom and dad are eating. I tried to steal a burrito from mom the other day. My mom and dad think I am teething, but I have very little interest in using the teething toys. My fist and my clothes taste much better. I love to scream and gurgle my spit. It makes mommy and daddy laugh every time. My mommy wants you to read a clip from a Graco baby email she received for my 6 months. She thinks this game sounds cruel:

Round Round Ballie
This simple song & game gets them every time. Do the actions below as you sing: "Round round ballie. Pull a piece of hair. One slice. Two slice. Tickle tickle there!" Hold baby's palm out flat. Circle round and round with your finger. Gently tug her hair, then karate chop up her arm and tickle her underarm.

What is this encouraging?!?!?!? My mom is not going to play this tickle game.
