Trouble, Trouble, Trouble

Quinn is now full into her twos and yes full of trouble. Her recent favorite song is a Ray Lamontagne song "Trouble". How fitting. She requests this song every time we are in the car and will sway and sing on the top of her lungs. She gets so intense when she sings it. Here is a little clip of her in action...

Quote of the Day

As we are walking out the door this morning Quinn shouts up to Andy, "Bye, bye Daddy. I love you. I have a belly button."

"Bye Quinn. I love you too. Glad you have a belly button."

This is a video of Quinn pretending to talk on the phone with her friend, Stella.

La, La, La, La...La, La, La, La Quinn is TWO!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Quinn! We cannot believe you are already two years old (or according to you "old 3, 3-4").It seems like just yesterday that I was in the mall trying to walk myself into labor. We will never forget our first time seeing you,our little Super Bowl baby. You have brought such joy into our lives and we are so blessed.

Every morning for the past 6 months you request that we put Elmo on, so we felt that it was only fitting to have your birthday Sesame Street themed. You loved your birthday cake and all of the attention and gifts. You were spinning in excitement before the guests arrived and had snuck a peek at your baby doll gift from Mommy and Daddy so you kept trying to rip pieces of the wrapping paper off to get to it. Apparently, you can't handle surprises just like your Mommy. You loved wearing your Elmo dress and clicking your dressy "princess" shoes around the house. You are such a girl!

Recent Stats:
26lbs, 35 inches, 5/2 shoe size (mini)-she goes for her 2 yr check up soon so this might change
This past month you have started to get your 2yr molars. Fevers and middle of the night/early wake ups have been keep your parents busy. We know the old tradition is to use vodka or whiskey to numb your gums and that tradition is beginning to sound more appealing to us every day because orajel and Motrin are just not doing the trick.Potty training is on hold, even though she has been showing some signs of readiness. We tried for a week and it was a total bust. Not worth the stress for any of us so we will probably try again over Spring Break or Summer Break.

Here are some common phrases this month:
NO, I do it. It's mine. I play in the snow. Santa's all done, he's sleepin.
No hands in there (she tells herself this when she is on the potty). I all done sleepin,I was cryin. I sit on couch, Mommy. Poppy go fishing. Your funny/silly Daddy.
I eat dinner?(she requests this at 6am, every meal is dinner to her) I go downstairs.
Elmo on, please. Daddy eat it. Come on Hayley. I go potty on Dora.
I pee pee in the bathtub Daddy. Mema boo boo neck. I Quinn. I a girl, Mommy a girl, Daddy a boy...(she can go on forever listing everyone she knows and saying whether they are a boy or girl)Quoting Napoleon Dynamite "Eat your food Tina" Says in a sing song voice-Night, night Mommy, night night Daddy, night night Quinn it's time to go to sleep. Then she proceeds to continue for quite some time listing everyone she knows and has to add in all the animals she knows too.

Recent Favorite Songs: Ba Ba Black Sheep, Rock A Bye Baby, Happy Birthday, Itsy Bitsy Spider and If your Happy and You Know It, and most of the nursery rhymes, but she sings and dances like crazy when she hears some songs on the radio, especially All the Single Ladies, Vision of Love, Dynamite, and Teenage Dream. When a song finishes she will say again, again, which causes meltdowns if it is on the radio so we usually stick to the cds in car rides these days. She requests Rock A Bye Baby the most and will use her soft singing voice which is so darn cute!
Personality: Still opinionated as ever and clingy to Mommy. Mommy is lucky if she can get herself dressed in the morning. She likes to boss around the dog and demand that Mommy and Daddy sit on the couch to snuggle with her. She is very eager to learn new things and tries to be a little comedian. She is still an early riser which is still hard for Mom and Dad to accept. She still can't handle getting water near her eyes, which makes bath time interesting...she will definitely be signing up for swimming lessons again this summer to get over that fear. She is a ball full of energy and loves jumping, skipping and running, which usually ends with some injury. She enjoys coloring and painting and has fun drawing on her magnedoodle. She is obsessed with stickers and her dolls. She likes to bring a baby to bed each night and will wrap it in its own blanket and lie it next to her on her pillow. Overall, she is great and has been so fun to watch grow and change.
