Beach Fun

In the beginning of August we took a short family trip to Ogden Dunes, IN and here are just a few snapshots from the trip. Starting back at work has made it difficult to keep up with the posts. I will try to update more soon.

Quinn loved the bizarre angel statues in the backyard. She called them babies.

18 Months Going On...

Eating yogurt with Nana

Quinn is a very busy girl these days. She is now speaking in short phrases. Her longest phrases are when she sings lyrics to songs..."ba ba black sheep" is one of her favorites. She also likes trying to sing her ABC's and count to 10. Her favorite words lately are: puppies, babies, trees, apple, sit, no, and banana. She also enjoys shouting mommy, mommy all day long. She likes to do things her way and gets quite frustrated if we interject.
Stats:
Weight:22.8lbs (50%ile)
Height: 32.5inches (75th%ile)-we'll see how long this lasts

Likes: The swings, swimming, sand, walking Hayley on the leash (with our assistance of course), the slide, her dolls, tickling, airplane and sitting on daddy's shoulders, lots of love from her family...she will hug and kiss and rub our backs and has thoroughly enjoyed her visits with her grandparents and the all the attention they give her. Quinn has developed a sense of humor and will do things to make us laugh. She also laughs at us and will say Oh, daddy/mommy in a funny voice. She likes to growl everyone's names to be funny. I catch her listing names while we are in the car. She will name everyone she knows and then repeat them over and over. She likes to say apples or bananas randomly throughout her day and when she is reading books to herself I usually catch her saying them.

Dislikes: Hearing "NO", TEETHING and NAPS! She has not been napping normally for the past month. This was happening before the busyness of family visits. She is just refusing and screaming and jumps up and down in her crib. I watch her from the monitor and she will continue this craziness for sometimes up to an hour. Usually by that point I will take her out and lay her down for "quiet time" or go for a stroller ride (she passes out instantly on those walks). I just don't want to be creating bad habits, because she has become quite the manipulator. I think she realizes that we are up doing things when she naps and she can't handle missing anything. I am at a loss, I've tried giving up morning naps and just putting her down around 12 (even though she appears to need a morning nap since she wakes up anywhere between 4-6:30). I've tried earlier/ later bedtime but she still wakes up so early in the morning. I feel like she wakes up with the sunrise or the birds chirping. It's crazy. She definitely is a morning person like her daddy.
